The
Fraser Valley Métis Association welcomes applications from all Métis in the Fraser Valley and surrounding areas.
Application for citizenship to the Fraser Valley Métis Association
is available to all Métis who
- Self identify as Métis.
- Have resided in the province of British Columbia for at least 3 months.
- Are not a registered Indian and do not receive any benefits as an Indian.
- Are not an Inuit and do not receive any benefits as an Inuit.
If you wish to become a citizen of the Fraser Valley Métis
Association, you must
- Complete the application form and provide a non-refundable $10.00 processing fee.
When your application for citizenship is approved, you must
- Attend the Membership Celebration Meeting that directly follows the approval of your application. You will receive your membership card at this time.
- Attend the FVMA Annual General Meeting, plus minimum two (2) additional membership meetings each year.
- Maintain every effort to remain in good standing as a member of the Métis community, by attending membership meetings and other Métis community events.
