Effective
November 2009, Fraser Valley Métis Association held its membership Annual General Meeting and dissolves formally the past executive board and elected the following as the executives.
John Lepine - President
Lisa Shepherd - Vice President
Shelley Tegart - Secretary
Marie Carter - Treasurer
Irvine Thorpe - Elder Representative
Chris Kelly - Events Coordinator
Lucille Dunbar - Events Decorator
Earl Cathers - Board Member at large
Ron Pruden - Board Member at large
Amy Langton - Youth Representative
The purpose of the council is to lead and/or facilitate the capacity building, community development and leadership development activities in the FVMA. The council is responsible for setting the short and long term goals of FVMA and for the relations between FVMA and the Métis Provincial Council of British Columbia (MPCBC). The council will be held accountable to the larger membership body of FVMA in regards to operations, budget, spending, policies, and community involvement and events.
